I forgot about the stretching of the skin.im using a solid straight razor .it's extremely difficult to get sharp .it can pop hairs but it pulls my beard.I also struggle with the other side of my face. But I'll persevere

Most of these discussions fail to mention frequency of haircut. People who cut their hair once every month or 6 weeks dont have an issue paying $40-50. Obviously people that want their hair cut every two weeks will find that price too high. I began cutting in a hood shop where custies were very picky and wanted airbrush level fades and tapers. This group also cut their hair frequently. As a barber this is NOT where you want to work. These cuts take longer and customers complain about pricing. When i moved to a more hipster barber shop I raised my prices to $50 a cut and there were no complaints. But these customers get their hair cut once every five weeks or so. I cut about two heads an hr amd make $100. 8 hours a day, 5 days a week. Barbers: Make the move to a different type of shop, or continue to just barely get by while the prices of EVERYTHING gets more expensive..your choice.
